SECOND TRANSNATIONAL MEETING IN POLAND

Last April, some teachers from CEIP Jose Antonio went to the second meeting related to the project which took place in Nowe Slupia, in Poland. Some teachers from the countries which take part in the project went there: Finland, which is the coordinator of the project, Croatia, Ireland, Greece, Spain and Poland, which was the host of the meeting.

Some activities were done such as visits to the classroom, where the teachers saw some tasks related to the project and talked about some future activities.

The first day, they did an opening ceremony with some authorities where they told their function within the school. The pupils had prepared some performances such as dances, the hymn of the project and plays in English.

After that, they did a visit in the school from the first levels to the highest levels. They could see the materials that the students used, as well as the methodology employed.

During the meetings, they could see the work that the other schools had done and talked about future activities. In the meetings, they valued positively the conversations that the children from the different countries had by skype, and they agreed to continue doing at least two per year. They also presented some murals from our 6th grade students about volleyball and indiaca.

The host school prepared some activities that we could see and in which they did different tasks such as Maths activities to work with fractions, artistic activities in which they created a logo with different materials, and a tongue twister in Polish.

Finally, they did a Treasure hunt in the village. The groups were made by some students and 3 teachers from different countries, and they must work in a cooperative way to find some hints and solve the tasks related to the Olympic Games. The goal was to create the title of the project and find the treasure. Besides of that, the children had an added difficulty: the only way they had to talk to us was in English.
