Belinda
López Gallego has visited our school to talk with the students about adapted
sports and integration.
The Primary education students
have gone to her talk in which they have had the opportunity to listen to
Belinda’s experiences with the sport and her achievements. As a Spanish
paratriathlon champion, she have talked about adapted sports and the
difficulties that the people who practised these sports can find.
One of the most important
conclusions was the importance to adapt the space to allow the people with some
disability to practice sports and live a normal life.
Among the questions that the
students asked to Belinda, the children were very interested in the guide dog
and its importance in Belinda’s life.
It was very shocking for the
students that Belinda swims because they cannot understand how she can swim
without seeing anything. Another important information was that Belinda is an
expert in rescue.
She also explained to the
students that she swam in the sea which is more difficult than swimming in a
pool.
To conclude, we can say a
sentence that Belinda said to the students: ‘Effort always means victory’
